Gelenek \u00fczerine yazm\u0131\u015f olan b\u00fcy\u00fck d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerin hi\u00e7biri\u2014Ren\u00e9 Gu\u00e9non da d\u00e2hil\u2014kendilerini veya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 tan\u0131mlamak i\u00e7in \u201cGelenek\u00e7i\u201d (Traditionalist) ya da \u201cGelenek\u00e7ilik\u201d (Traditionalism) terimlerini kullanmad\u0131klar\u0131 gibi, \u201cGelenek\u00e7i okul\u201d kavram\u0131na da asla de\u011finmemi\u015flerdir. Hatta Ren\u00e9 Gu\u00e9non, <em>Niceli\u011fin Egemenli\u011fi ve Ahir Zaman Alametleri<\/em> (The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times) adl\u0131 eserinde \u201cGelenek\u00e7ilik\u201d kavram\u0131n\u0131 ele\u015ftirmek i\u00e7in \u00f6zel bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm ay\u0131rm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Gu\u00e9non, Gelene\u011fi bu tarz bir kategorilendirme e\u011filimini \u015f\u00f6yle tan\u0131mlar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcz d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda her yerde h\u00fck\u00fcm s\u00fcren zihinsel karma\u015fan\u0131n en a\u00e7\u0131k belirtilerinden biridir; ancak unutulmamal\u0131d\u0131r ki bu karma\u015fa, modern sapman\u0131n ard\u0131nda gizli olan g\u00fc\u00e7 taraf\u0131ndan bizzat istenmi\u015ftir. Her ne kadar Gelenek i\u00e7inde siyasete dair dolayl\u0131 bir yakla\u015f\u0131m olsa da (parti siyaseti ile alakas\u0131z bir bi\u00e7imde), bu siyaset boyutu onun en d\u00fcnyev\u00ee y\u00f6n\u00fcd\u00fcr ve postmodern d\u00fcnyada Gelenek\u2019i benimsemeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan biri i\u00e7in asl\u0131nda pek faydal\u0131 de\u011fildir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ayr\u0131ca, Gelene\u011fi \u201cGelenek\u00e7ilik\u201d \u015feklinde ifade etmek, onun ba\u015fl\u0131 ba\u015f\u0131na ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131z bir dinmi\u015f gibi anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131na yol a\u00e7abilir. Oysa Gelenek, ger\u00e7ekte b\u00fct\u00fcn sahih dinlerin \u00f6z\u00fcd\u00fcr; fakat insanlar bu \u00f6z\u00fc ancak bir dinin prati\u011fi arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla bilebilirler. Ancak her zaman Gu\u00e9non\u2019un bu ele\u015ftirisini ak\u0131lda tutmak gerekir.<br>Bu a\u00e7\u0131klamalar\u0131n \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda sorunuza ge\u00e7ersek, Julius Evola, Gu\u00e9non\u2019un izinden gitmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015f di\u011fer d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerin (Frithjof Schuon gibi, Gu\u00e9non\u2019un temel \u00f6\u011fretilerinden \u015fu veya bu \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde sapm\u0131\u015f bir\u00e7ok isim d\u00e2hil) i\u00e7inde ger\u00e7ekten farkl\u0131 bir noktada durur. Di\u011fer Gelenek yazarlar\u0131 da yer yer siyasetle ilgili bir \u015feyler s\u00f6ylemi\u015f olabilir, ancak Geleneksel d\u00fcnya g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcn liberalizme kar\u015f\u0131t olma zorunlulu\u011funu (liberalizm son \u00e7a\u011f\u0131n d\u00fczleyici etkisinin tezah\u00fcr\u00fc say\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan) belirtmek haricinde, genelde siyas\u00ee analize derinlemesine girmezler.
